First things first, in order to capture our leads, we need to create the Ads Campaign. In this case, we will be using Meta Instant Forms, which will allow us to get a higher volume of leads, at a lower cost. Let’s start by building the form: 

1. To begin, you will need to access your Meta Ads Manager site, linked to your business Facebook and Instagram accounts. Once you are there, you need to click on “Create” to start building your Campaign.

2. In order to continue creating your campaign, you will need to select the main objective you want to achieve. In this case, as we have mentioned before, our main goal is to get more leads for our own company or for our client, if that’s the case. Therefore, we select “Leads” as our main goal, and then, we continue with the manual setup option.

3. To continue with our lead generation campaign configuration, we need to select “New Leads Ad Set” on the left side of our screen and then make sure we have “Instant forms” selected, which is now actually the default option.

4. Now, we can jump into the Ads Level—New Leads Ad section and scroll down until we reach the “Create form” button.

5. Now it’s time to start creating our Meta Instant Form! The first thing you need to do is pick a name for your form. For example, we will create a form for an agency that works for a car dealership.

6. In the next step, we will need to decide the Form Type, whether we want to focus on getting more volume, higher intent, or rich creative. The higher intent type will add an extra step to the form from where leads can review their contact information before submitting it. This might add some extra friction to the process, that’s why we will continue with the “More volume” option for now.

7. Once we have the type of form cleared out, we move on to the “Intro” step. In terms of background images, we can either have the same we use for our ad, or use a specific uploaded image for our form. We will select “Use the image from your ad” so we keep consistency between the ad the user will see and the actual form. 

8. When it comes to the “Greeting”, in the Headline it’s important to confirm what they can expect from completing your form. In our case, since we are working with the Automotive Industry, we want to get their contact information to provide them with car recommendations and offers based on their needs and preferences. Jumping into the following section, we will see that we have the option to add some preliminary questions, such as “How did you hear about us?” or “What is your current job title?” in case we want to get some extra info from our leads. In our case, we will go directly to the “Contact information” part below, because we will be adding these qualification questions later in our WhatsApp chatbot. For the contact information, we will ask our leads for their full name, phone number (very important if we want to reach them through WhatsApp later), and email.

10. Next, you will be asked to provide a Privacy Policy link. You can use the one available on your website, for instance.

11. Finally, in the “Ending” step, you have some more space to add a thank-you message and let the user know what they can expect after submitting the form, plus redirect them to your website or any particular landing page you consider important at this point of the journey.

3. You’ll see that a new window pops up on the right side of the screen. There, you need to select the ‘Trigger event’ which in this case will be ‘New Lead’. 4. Now, you have to go to Landbot chatbot builder, click on WhatsApp in the menu you find on the left, access your business-verified phone number, and go to ‘Growth tools’.

5. Once you’re in the ‘Growth tools’ section, go to the ‘Opt-in form’ and click on ‘Create opt-in form’. 

6. The first thing we need to make sure is we give a name to our opt-in form. Next, we select the Message Template we have already created, and then we will be asked to upload a header image and add a parameter that we would like to show in the message. In our case, we will indicate that we want the chatbot to use the name of the lead. Once that is set, we click on ‘Confirm values’.

7. Now it’s time to link a bot to continue the conversation flow. Same as with the Message Template, the WhatsApp bot we want to use should be already built with all the blocks we need in order to qualify our leads.

8. When we have selected our bot, we also need to add a ‘Consent message’ which is basically the response leads will click on when they accept to become subscribers and receive our messages. We can type something like: ‘I accept’. 

9. Below, you will find the snippet code. As part of this code, you will see that there’s a part that indicates ‘URL’. Copy this URL and go back to Zapier.

10. In Zapier, select the action you want to perform. We will select ‘Webhooks, and in ‘Action event’, we choose ‘Custom Request’.

11. Inside the Custom Request, in ‘Method’, we will select ‘POST’. Below, you will see that we have a URL field. Here’s where we have to paste the URL we have copied from our Snippet Code in Landbot’s opt-in form and click on the ‘+’ to select the data we want to collect from our Meta Instant Form. In our case, since we will deploy a WhatsApp chabot, we will select ‘Phone Number’:

12. Last but not least, you can test the entire connection to see if it’s working properly! Just click on ‘Test step’. If all looks good, then you will only need to Publish and start getting the most out of your Meta Instant Forms and WhatsApp automation!
